Payment and Conditions

My rates are in line with those suggested by the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA). The rates listed in the Cost (Starting Rate) table on the SERVICES AND RATES page are starting rates. Your actual rate will be discussed on an individual project basis.

• I accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express through PayPal. 
  NOTE: You do not have to have a PayPal account to use this service.
• I require a $50.00 minimum payment.

• Your payment to me will be made according to the General Proofreading, Copyediting, and Technical Document Editing Process on the PROCESS page.
• The proofreading, copyediting, and technical document editing rates reflect my general pricing for manuscripts. Depending on your manuscript, I may negotiate a higher or lower rate. Fees for office supplies necessary for your manuscript and other costs may be charged. I will discuss them with you before the contract is signed. I will not charge you any hidden or unexpected fees.
• Requests for additional proofreading, copyediting, technical document editing, or revisions of a portion or all of your manuscript after the work is complete will result in an additional charge based on the listed rates.
• Payment for proofreading, copyediting, or technical document editing services is not a guarantee that your manuscript will be accepted by any literary agent or publisher.
• JDFogdall Editing cannot be used on Amazon or any other bookseller's listing.
• JDFogdall Editing cannot be quoted or listed on the front or back cover matter or in the book blurb without my written permission.
• I would appreciate a complimentary copy of your publication for my library.
